YOUR TUTORS on your painting holiday in Marbella.
Caroline Hulse FRSA is an internationally renowned artist - one art critic coined the term 'stylised realism' in describing her landscape paintings. She has represented 'Britain's Painters'
Caroline trained at one of the best art schools and is described as
a "Master Painter" in International Artist magazine. She was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts in 2008. This award is only given to artists who have gained outstanding
achievements in their career.
She was (January 2011) commissioned to supply
paintings for the entire Head Office of a major company. Some of which can be seen on her web site.
Caroline was painting from an early age and won many national painting competitions as well as local competitions. In fact, the local newspaper asked her to stop sending in her entries to the weekly painting competitions - because they stated - 'You will always have to be chosen as the winner but it gives no-one else a chance!! They carried on to say that they knew she would, one day, be a great painter!!
Caroline was mortified - the 7 shillings and 6 pence prize money funded her Saturday night outings to the Ricky Tick in Windsor!! She grew up in Berkshire and attended the Brigidine Convent, Windsor. Now just the Brigidine School and no longer a convent.
She still has a huge passion for landscapes but it was when an International Pizza restaurant chain discovered her in 1999 that she really began her journey in to contemporary abstracts.
She has paintings and prints in lots of public spaces, hotels, restaurants and offices as well as a loyal following of clients who tend to buy a painting from every series of works she creates each year.
Caroline has outstanding testimonials to her painting
and her teaching: click here
"I was amazed at Caroline's ability to paint anything in any style
- the sign of a truly gifted painter " Brian
'Caroline could make a great painting from a washing up bowl! Bill
"Caroline was such an excellent teacher - so generous in passing on tips and techniques. She also seemed to be able to draw (sorry about the pun) out the best in us. I can truthfully say the three pictures I produced were the best I have ever done' Pam
"Caroline you are such a fantastic teacher,
I feel like I learnt a lot during the
3 days and find it amazing that you can
teach any style and have so much
knowledge about the way artists’ paint yet
keep the emphasis on everyone developing
their own style – I think that style of teaching
is perfect for anyone who wants to paint.
I will definitely be back". Best regards, Katie

Alex Croxford BA (apart from being charming, fun and friendly) is an oil painter, His speciality is large architectural form with small figures. Slightly niave but full of realism and light and shade.
He takes ages to paint a picture and really concentrates on trying to get the sense of 'hugeness' of architecture against human form. Sensational at drawing, colour and proportion - he's your man for some essential basics.
Alex's work in progress
