Wall to wall sunshine and exciting painting !
Just a line to thank you so much for your patient and inspirational teaching last week. My time in Monda with you and Alex was was such a confidence builder for me (in art and in life in general!). As you know I was more than a little anxious about my lack of painting experience but with your encouragement and your 'can do' attitude I feel I achieved so much more than I ever imagined that I could - I've returned home feeling inspired to do much more. You even managed to put a positive spin on my disastrous 'hay-stack', showing me how to learn from my mistakes! You've taught me so much, particularly the value of good composition and having the confidence to interpret rather than simply copy a subject. But perhaps the most important thing you passed on to me was something which I can carry through into life in general: after careful preparation, be brave, be uninhibited and go with your instincts - or as you so succinctly put it; 'If you think it - do it!'. Whenever I doubt myself this will come to me - it's my new mantra!
Once again thank you for a wonderful and productive week and please pass on my thanks to Alex for all his help, his charming company and his lively conversation - what a dynasty you've reared!!
